A paper prepared for the Equal Justice Project Outreach Symposium “Access to Justice: Is it in the Budget?” on the 6th of October 2014.

Access to justice is a vital part of the fundamental right of a person to a fair trial. All people  deserve to access the resources of the justice system in order to resolve their legal issue.Unfortunately, this is not always the case. This symposium paper will discuss some of the access to justice issues surrounding a lack of funding for  court services and other alternative resources.Members who worked on this symposium paper:Maggie Shui, Jasper Lau, Taraneh Monagneh, Rachel Hale and Lucy SmithContact:Helen Thompson & Anna Chaltononcampus@equaljusticeproject.co.nz
